Dr. Barbara Kearns
Dr. Barbara Kearns graduated with an honours degree from University College, Dublin in 1993. From 1994 to 2000 Dr. Kearns pursued her specialist training in the Cleveland Clinic, Ohio – ranked consistently in the top 5 hospitals in the U.S.A. (click here…).
Upon successful completion of her specialist training in general medicine and paediatrics, Dr. Kearns was made a Member of the American Board of Internal Medicine and a Member of the American Academy of Paediatrics. Dr. Kearns worked as a Consultant in the Cleveland Clinic Primary Care Department before returning to join her mother, Dr. Geraldine Kearns, in general practice in Blackrock.
Since her return to Ireland in 2000, Dr. Kearns has completed further specialist training and became a Member of the Irish College of General Practitioners in 2005. In 2007, Dr. Kearns completed a higher diploma in dermatology, graduating with honours from U.C.D. Dr. Kearns is actively involved in continuing medical education with the Irish College of General Practitioners.
Currently Dr. Kearns is also involved in lecturing in the Faculty of Medicine in University College, Dublin. She is also resident doctor on the popular TV3 morning show, where she gives general medical advice to viewers (click here …)
As a daughter and grand daughter of General Practitioners, Dr. Kearns is passionate about medicine and the care of her patients. She is an active sports woman and a year round sea swimmer in the forty foot. Dr. Kearns is a fluent Irish speaker and a mentor for youths in Cuala GAA club.
